men's fees paid. I never paid Government money to

my private account.

That was for extra watchmen's fees. I had to

wait till the money came from the Treasury for that

$500.00.

To what Government account was this paid? I paid this into the Bank under possession fees. It may be part of the item $700.00 cheques on 27.2.26. (Bank paying in slip).

Why the delay between making out cheque

and paying in?

I had to make up my book.

On 22.2.26 you paid $521.00 to Suitors Fund made up of distraints 4 items $507.20 and summary deposits $14.00. Was not the $500 part of this.

May be I took the money from the daily collec- tions and sent cash to the Government. I kept possess-

ion fees till the end of the month.

I took the money from the daily collections and handed in my cheque.

To save the trouble to go to the bank to cash my

cheque. I did this once or twice a month.

What was the biggest sum for which you cashed

your cheque out of takings?

Not over $1,000.
